The word stein is a shortened form of Steinzeugkrug, which is German for stoneware jug or tankard. By common usage, however, stein has come to mean any beer container — regardless of its material or size — that has a hinged lid and a handle.
Inside you can see two touchmarks on the beer stein. The angel holding the scale in one hand with the sword in the other is a mark indicating that the stein is 100% pewter.
The red sticker on the bottom says is is part of the pewter trade guild which guarantees quality and craftsmanship. The seal also means the beer stein is safe for drinks.
While there may be a lot of beer steins out there, I have not found another one with this exact hunting motif. The detail on this 100% pewter collectible stein is unbelievable.
